Caroline and John-Paul
The Wedding

17th June 2006

The Preparations

As befits tradition, we were cruelly separated the night before the wedding. John-Paul got ready at our home in Leatherhead, whilst Caroline prepared at her family home in Guildford.

The bride, father and bridesmaid travelled to the Church in the family's Triumph Dolomite (affectionately known as "Yellow Bird"). It was a long journey, and we certainly got some interesting looks on the way. We also gave some garage owners a bit of a fright when we stopped for a bottle of water - I think they thought we'd broken down!

Our personal coach, a Bristol MW Royal Blue, was ready to pick guests up from Leatherhead Station and transport them in style to the Church.

The Ceremony

Our wedding ceremony was held at the Church of Our Lady and St Peter in Leatherhead (Garlands Road, Leatherhead, Surrey KT22 7EZ) at 3pm on 17th June 2006. The ceremony was a Catholic marriage service with Mass, conducted by The Reverend Father Michael Masterson OBE, with music provided by Emma Gibbins (organist) and Spencer Goh (soloist). For more information on the church, visit Leatherhead Catholics.

The Reception

After the ceremony, our personal coach transported guests to Berwyn (the Soubry residence), in Guildford ("Berwyn", 95 Farnham Road, Guildford, Surrey GU2 7PF Multimap). The garden looked beautiful due to months of hard labour by Caroline's mum. Guests were greeted by a canapé and drinks reception.

Caroline and John-Paul arrived shortly afterwards in a 1974 State Landaulette, greeted by a flurry of confetti.

After plenty of chatting, catching-up with long lost friends, drinking and taking photos, everyone was ushered into the marquee where we were seated at tables named after John-Paul and Caroline's favorite fruits. Dinner was a barbeque buffet (see menu below) followed by the obligatory speeches, cutting of the cake, and Caroline and John-Paul's first dance. The Jezebel Sextet band provided Jazz, Funk and Soul music to dance the night away.
